• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Ran across one of these today out in the providence ... Might be a Filipino brand crossed with China of course ...

Anyway, its a 250cc bike. Four yrs ago when I arrived here, I hardly ever saw any dirt \ DS bike over 150cc except for the Honda XR 200cc bike ... Now Honda was stepped up with some 250cc DS bike here and this MCX bike ..Its gonna be a 250cc world here some day :)

Looks like a familiar frame with the coloring sort of KTMish ... Not sure on that engine with the funky kick-starter ... Maybe next time, I'll ride it

The Chinese are getting better but still crap IMHO. Funny things like chome, big stamped steel parts (heavy). Huge heavy dual piston rear brake calipers, The motor has been in everything and make little power and weighs a lot. Should make a good play bike but the will be very heavy, slow and under powered compared to a real modern bike. They kinda have the look down now, they need to work on the components.

So you have seen that engine before? Just a Chinese enterprise?

Price will drive a bike like this one here but it has gotta last and not break easily on the mountain roads when ridden reasonably ... Any performance stuff is secondary to these other things... If that bike costs ~100,000P, it might sell as the 250 honda cfl or what ever their 250 is, is gonna be lots more than that ... The last prices I saw on the 200XRs was 140,000P .... So their new 250 has gotta be pushing 200,000P ...

yes in many different models.
