  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

May be done with TXC511!!

Newest problem has ruined another day of riding. Fires when trying to start but won't run after letting off starter button. Turns over, sounds like it will run but doesn't. Riding down trail out of parking area all the sudden it just dies, still sounds like its trying to fire up when coasting to a stop. Tried to get it to start for over a 45 mins. Good battery charge, everything plugged in, plenty of gas...etc I loaded up to leave for my 1 1/2 hrs drive home after 30 seconds of riding and tried it again, 3rd time it start. WTH!! Can't trust it to ride not knowing if it will stay running. Has anyone had this problem. 2011 model. I am seeing orange in my future as of today. Maybe if I sleep on it I will change my mind:-/

Check the connector to the coil. Had that happen to us during an ice race. Started up, ran for a lap, then at the start run about 100 meters and died. We spent 20 minutes kicking and disassembling to find a poor connection to the coil tang.

The grounds are good. I have had fuel injection problems since day one. Even has a 2012 throttle body and mapping. Appears to be extremely lean out of the blue. Dealer is looking into it. Thanks for the help.

Sounds similar to a bike issue at the PNW gathering I just came back from, which was caused by low coolant level. Maybe check that?

Im running both a 2011 TXC511 and TXC449 and have never had any of this type of problem. We just had a gathering of Husky riders near here and several of this model/series were in attendance. Again, no problems. As Coffee mentions make sure coolant and sensor are good as that can trigger this type of behavior in any bike (even FI Orange one's)

Coolant level is good...has been one thing after another with this bike. One bad apple I guess, will figure it out eventually.

Ok, my faith waivered a bit, but has been restored by th Evansville Superbike Shop. After much work they found that the fuel pump relay went bad. Should get my bike back this afternoon and will soon go through all connections and put dielectric grease on them. On vacation and have 10 days to ride. Can't wait:-)
