• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

May 2014 China Hat ride

AA Class
You are all invited to My annual trip to ride the China Hat Plateau in Bend Oregon. I started taking riders from our area that had never been to China Hat several years ago. After riding for six months in nothing but wet 1st and 2nd gear single track all winter. The open fast riding of China Hat has become a annual must do for several of the gang.
This is the first weekend after Mother's day. We usually stage at the south end but that could change to camp 25 depending on the turnout. Thursday through Sunday is the plan. Most riders show up late Thursday and ride Friday and Saturday. This year I have a local guy that is going to take us on a tour of the secret single track trails the locals ride. He says it is really good ! For those of you who are more dual sport oriented. I a sure we could get someone to organize a great dual sport ride.
Hope many of you can make it.

Sounds like a great time Russ!

I added "2014" to the title, because every time I see this thread show up in 'Whats New' I keep thinking it is about the late October 2013 meeting we just had...

Maybe I'll actually have a chance to make one of these things! All of the fall outings have been on weekends when I've been out of town....

China hat has ice but with this warm weather should be getting better. We have been riding 4 corners Millican and it's already getting dusty. The weather has been fantastic but i'm sure the snow is coming. Maybe this weekend we will ride China Hat. If we do I will post the conditions.

Thats not news. Its dusty 345 days a year :D Only stops for the occasional snow or rainstorm which evaporates in 28 seconds and back to the dust.

I'm on a project from Hell at work these days thats supposed to go live in April... I'm not holding my breath though ... but I'm still planning on making it...

Sorry to hear about the "hell project", Kevin. At least you have some incentive to get it done by May.
Good luck. It will be a blast riding that area again.
