• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Marzocchi twin chamber bladder

Bart

Husqvarna
AA Class
So I did bleed the innerchamber of my Marzocchi 50 TC (or CC), but how much should the bladder be pre expanded? What exactly does pre expanding do to the handling?

If it's pre expanded to much could I expect a harsh feel?
Wouldn't it be better if it wasn't pre expanded at all (just free from air).

I've read that article numerous times, it isn't very informative however at least it doesn't answer my basic question.
I have enough experience with these forks (rebuilding that is), I know the bleeding procedure and I've done quite a few.

What I'd like to know is how much the bladder should be pre expanded (fully extended), and what would happen if it expanded to much (but not so much it fouls on inner leg/tube).

That article says to 'extend the cartridge rod and fill the chamber to the top' ... That's all I ever did when playing with the oil in the inner chamber..

Wish I had more to give ya, but that's it ... That process always seemed to work for me ...

With my memory being tested here, and with all that said, extending that rod out of the chamber contracted the bladder I thought... The diameter of the bladder got smaller. Pushing the rod up wards, making it shorter, expanded the bladder. So I guess I do not under the terms correctly :(

Good luck on your work ...
