  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

I bought my bike at Malcolm Smith Motorsports about a week and a half ago and got to meet the legend himself , got our picture taken next to the bike , brought me to his office and signed a couple autographs, and poster and the movie on any sunday , the man signed my bike and even helped me strap it in , the bike was stalling when I got it home and had in it so I sent an e-mail that I didn t care for the prep work, well Mr Smith called me and appoligized for that and I got a T- shirt in the mail today, this man is a real upstanding guy and he will always get my business. Just thought that I would share that with you all.

There's not much they can do with a stock bike. If you asked for other work to be done to improve it that would be one thing, but not much magic can be done and still sell a stock California legal bike. Be nice to Malcolm, he has to follow the law.

Oh, I bet they might just have Zip Ty do their magic on it and call it good. All in the hood.

Malcolm and many other dealers from SoCal usually send their customers to me. We can change the new Husky's from sputter to rocket ship in very little time. Give me a call.

Thanks for the heads up , I do alot of riding off 138 by the cajon pass , I am from yucaipa. Got ur number , was quoted 350 for ecu and install, don t know if thats a good or bad price.

ya cleaned out the pipe put the new airfilter cage in and removed the throttle stop runs like a different bike, need the ecu but don t have the funds.

What gearing are you running? Best bang for the buck after doing what you have already done is changing the gearing if you are running the stock 40-tooth rear sprocket. Bike won't even pull itself with that insanely high gearing. I recommend going with a 50...52 if you ride tight stuff.

350 for what? I can re-flash your ecu for $40.

Doh...I should have caught the "R" after the 310. Tinken is right on. For the Keihin injected machines, all you need is a reflash. Pull your ECU and send to ZipTy. I'm sure you will be happy with the results.

Malcom's a great guy. Met up with him on an organised trail ride in Tecate, Mexico back in the eighties where his young son was riding in front with some custom foot-pegs bolted to the engine cases. I was really interested in doing that so I could ride my boy around and Malcolm let me borrow his set-up so I could have it copied.
We did some 90-plus mile rides in Tecate with a good amount of single-track in it using that arrangement and it was some of the best times I've had.

No r after the 310 its a 2012 , lucky for me ZipTy is easy driving distance , about 50 miles from here.

Malcom Smith Motorsports held the door open for me on a Friday . I drove from Bakersfield and got held up in traffic so it was 6:39pm when I got there. Good people who value your buisness . Didn't meet Malcom but his store says alot for him. They had to appraise two trade ins of mine and gave me a fair shake on them too.
