  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

All 2st MAKING THE MOST OF YOUR STOCK WR FUEL TANK

I don't have the little WR, but that would work on all of them, I suppose. I had forgotten to top off my tank on my 300 one time and was unpleasantly surprised to have the engine quit running out on the trail! I flipped the fuel tap to reserve and putted along till the motor began to idle up again, then stopped and laid the bike over onto the left side so that I could continue on back to the staging area. There is at least a few miles worth lurking around in the right side of the tank for sure.

I had the misfortune of doing that myself on my KTM... Lucky for me it was in the woods behind my house and I was lucky enough to limp it on home.... Pushing that beast in the woods ain't something that's a whole lot of fun ....:excuseme:

Try running out of fuel with a flat rear tire and pushing your bike through the woods back to your truck while the sun is going down.Been there-hated life for a while:thumbsdown:!

I'd be hating life too if that happened to me........
It's all good, like the saying goes "what doesn't kill you makes you stronger". Funny though, when it happened saying it over in my head was almost as bad as the situation:lol:! I should have bought a lottery ticket that day, what are the odds of getting a nail in your tire in the middle of no-where and running out of fuel after several near romantic encounters with trees and the ground? After the tire went flat it partially came off the rim and was only attached by the bead lock, for some reason it was not the ideal set-up for wet roots and muddy trails.Has any-body ridden a 3-legged horse on a skating rink? I think I did!Hope you enjoyed this,I think I'm still having flash-backs:lol::cheers:!
