  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

250-500cc Magura clutch problems after engine rebuild.

04wr300

Husqvarna
C Class
Hey guy,

Just finished rebuilding my 04 wr250 with a 300 kit and lectron. Before the rebuild the magura clutch worked awesome, installed by previous owner. When the engine was taken out I flicked the magura rod out of the link on the engine. It was tight but came out easy.

After reinstalling engine I put the slave cylinder in the cable locater on the left side of case , then pushed the engines clutch link on the right hand side in as far as I can, I also grabbed the clutch rod ad it pulled out easily and hooked onto the engine link.

It all went together to easy. However when testing I found the clutch won't disengage properly when lever is pulled in. Have I assembled something wrong?

I have also noticed that the slave is making a squishing noise when the lever is pulled. Does this indicate air?

I tried bleeding by pumping lever and cracking bleeder on slave. I've done some research and found that these systems are back bled with a syringe, so once I find some magura blood locally I'll carry this out.

So apart from bleeding is there anything I've assembled or done wrong. This clutch was awesome on the first two rides before engine rebuild, I really want to get it back to that.

the squishing is normal, mine does it too(from new) & another fella who has one. blows bubbles when wet/soapy
