• Hi everyone,

    As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

    When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

    Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

    Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

    Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Maddo's Pipe Dream

He was on the local news here in LA this morning with the bike. Apparently he had to bail off on a huge wave while filming and the bike went under. They equipped it with an automatic lift bag to bring it back to the surface. They made sure everything was sealed so the tree huggers don't start hunting him like a Minnesota dentist. Oooh, too soon? :doh:

He said he wasn't even sure the thing runs anymore. I guess he launched from a boat out past the break to get the monster wave. Too bad he picked such a close out wave to ride. Would've been epic to see him get tubed.

was couple years in the making apparantly & drowned a few bikes in the process. pretty awesome. hes gonna try for aquaplaning world record(or actually set one as nothing official).
cant believe people were sooking bout the fuel/oil polluting the ocean! FFS are they serious?! hello...outboards, stormwater drains, fertilizer, fukushima, BP etc etc! this world is going crazy with tree huggin, politically correct BS. why cant people just say 'yeah thats pretty awesome'?! cue the Helen Lovejoy(Rev Lovejoys wife from simpsons) 'wont somebody think of the children' or in this case the environment. almost incomprehensible how much damage that would have created to the environment-hard to fathom(haha)! wankers. good onya robbie & go the 2 stroke!

Ha, Ha, Ha**************************************** Man, a girl a work with was droning on about the environment and sea life after watching the video yesterday. Stuff like this is COMPLETELY lost on her.

You guys down under get credit for Maddo, but my town claims him as one of its own now (he lives just two houses over from Nate Adams). :banana:

They've been programmed to care without thinking. Emotional reaction is what the youth is all about. I bet she likes boats and PWCs.
