  • Hi everyone,

    As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

    When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

    Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

    Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

    Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

250-500cc Lower seat for new WR 300?

does anybody know if there is a lower seat for the new WR 300? I,m on my way to buy a new one and have heard that the seat is higher than my Honda CR 250 i had before. how high is it? Is there an aftermarket seat?
 
i think seat is 950mm but you can do it yourself with an hours labour or just buy cutaway one from dealership...
 
It's not hard a friend did his 07 Honda 450R it now looks like a custom made spet seat. He used an electric carving knife and smoothed out the cut with a wood rasp. Recovered the seat with the stock cover.

I have 2010 WR 300. I'm 173cm.
My rear shock's stroke has been shortened 6 mm. Now seat height is about 25-30mm lower. It's perfect for me now. Also one step shofter rear spring and fork springs.

Gearbox is not perfect, I miss 6th gear.
 
Ok, sounds good! I actually ordred a new WR 300 today! Feels really great! Happy man now! The bike could arrive next week already if i,m lucky, so that,s a good christmasgift for myself! I sat on a TE 250 in the shop and it was actually lower than i expected. Nice surprice! I guess the bike will get slightly lower after a while when suspension have been working for a few hours. I,m really looking forward to this as it,s the first bike i buy that is new.
 
CONGRATS! Yes a new WR300 good deal. I hope you like power because I hear/read they have plenty and it's all good. My 09 TXC510 suspension settled out a little after a few rides so I think the WR will do the same. Nothing like a NEW BIKE, Merry Christmas to you.

Ok. They told me at the bikeshop they could do it and that it wasn,t a big job. I,ll try it first and then i see if it,s ok or not. Thanks anyway!

Yes, i hope there is plenty of grunt for the ice in the winter here=)! We make our own tires with 35mm long screws drawn from the inside out. Great wheelies out from the corners on the icetracks we plow on the lakes here! Merry Christmas to you too!
