  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

lots of vibration through handlebars

My dream is to own flex bars lol my friend runs them and man there like butter!

Someone mentioned that their pipe was touching the frame and made vibes come through the bars ... This was on a TE model though I think but you never know ... Maybe it is worth checking ...

My Te449 vibes bad too, I put Flexx bars on and it helped but not much (not worth the cost if that is your only goal with them). Pillow top grips did nothing and I dont like they way they feel. Race Tech sent me a free pair of Spiders that I need to mount and try out. I also have a set of HDB anti-vibe inserts coming, Ill report back on those.

I keep forgetting to check the motor mounts, will do that today. Mine is OK in the dirt but at hiway sppeds my right hand goes night night.

Thanks mckay I'm gonna check mine tonight also but my main reason for wanting flex bars is my wrist. I remember reading a review don't remember which one but they also said vibration at high speeds it seems when in the upper revs of 4th and 5th it when I feel it most

Spider grips worked out nice, the anti vibe inserts from HDB almost fixed the problem entirely. Vibe is still there but Im about 80 % better than before. Im happy! I think Pauls inserts where the trick. (Getting rid of the Karoos helped too!)

I haven't had too much of an issue with bar vibration, but I guess the throttle assembly did. Just noticed the other day one of the bolts fell out! Just when I thought I'd found all the loose stuff, replaced the missing hardware, etc. Sheesh! Seems the only bolts that stay snug on my 449 are the motor mounts. Did any of yours have the yellow paint lines on those critical fasteners?

Mine had the torque stripes, none are lined up anymore as I re-torqued them all.
My fender bolts fall out alot.

One my TC450, I feel lots of vibes through the foot pegs. Not so much through the handlebars.
