• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

The consvation authority that owns the land the riding club we belong too cancled the agreement with the club. They were good places to trail ride with the kids. Next nearest decent trails are 3 hrs away.

I am so tired of tree huggers. They want 100% non intrusion. What gets me, like Canada we have a truck load of space that is and alkways will be pristine due to its remotness. Those oxygen bandits can have that and leave our existing riding areas alone for Pete's sake. Same for our skiing fields

We are losing riding areas here. But it's to land development and mining. No consvationists where I'm from. The trails we do have get absolutely hammered by 4*4s.

We have got land develpers her also. I live outside a city of almost 400000 and the trails and gravel pits we used to ride as kids are now suburbs and golf courses. Ironically as an electrician I count on these houses for income, I also live in one of these houses near were I grew up. Can't stand golf though.

You kind of hit the nail on the head ... Progress in many cases is good and we gotta have it many cases ... Usually going to extremes is not a good idea but sometimes it seems some people are so bent against bike riding ... And see it as the cause of destruction of mankind some day or something along those lines ... Out of all the crap that might be hurting the planet, I just don't see bike riding anywhere on that list really...

I see it as an overpopulation problem. If the cities keep growing....
I'd rather find a new job and go north.
