• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Some folks in the cafe ask about the where in Tecate, on my gopro viddies, heres a chance to enjoy a ribboned private one directional fun layed out course with food and drink after all to benefit local folks and cruz roja.
This is a rare open invite "Tecate" trail ride from LAMC (I checked and asked).
Because its a school & Red Cross benefit ride so more riders is better.

This ride is more novice friendly flowing single track ride and last time even had hard/easy way splits.

Sounds fun. Might even have the beasty back together by then. Plus it's on a Saturday... Would be cool to meet you.

Directions to Rancho San Pedro (Santana family ranch.)
From Tecate take Hwy 2 (Libre or free road) approximately 16 miles east towards Mexicali. The ranch entrance will be marked with Los Ancianos arrows. Orange gate on the north side. It is about 1 1/2 miles east of the turnoff to Ojos / Santa Veronica.
From Mexicali take the toll road and exit at El Hongo. Go west on Hwy 2 Libre just past the village of Chula Vista. If you get to the Ojos / Santa Veronica turnoff you have gone too far. The ranch entrance will be marked with Los Ancianos arrows. Orange gate on the north side.

10ish hour drive.
Oh shoot! I just realized that's in 4 days. :o If I had seen this last week I might have been able to pull it off. I've been wanting to ride down there for a long time. Maybe next year if I'm still in CA.
