• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Los Ancianos Rancher Benefit ride 30APR2016

done, all the A route breaks was way more sporting thAN I expected. incurred unknow damage to bike and wrist about 10 15 miles into 60. finished the ride with my bike feeling and sounding strange. when we got back to camp i saw that pipe was smashed within a 1/2 in of closed and hitting and melting my skid plate and my starter cover. 300 2 strokes are that stupid bullet proof good.. my wrist was the other part of damage and didnt kick in until after the ride thankfully

I always do the look from the rear check, sometimes I can fit an adjustable wrench onto it and bend it back out, sometimes it needs to come off and be put on the hydro press. Truth is since I been using the ZipTy shark fin---never had much of a bend issue, Im sure it may be a slight bit off but there is still plenty of disc clearance. This ride for sure tested it. I looked again at my pipe and I am still amazed how well the bike ran with the pipe crushed the way it is. My wrist already feels better, it appears to be a sprain/strain soft tissue no bone cracks , I will test it for a couple of days and get an xray if it doesn't continue to improve--shoot I rode another 40 or more miles of some ugly stuff so it cant be that bad.

Gonna get it fixed? That's a good feeling to know it'll get you back when other bikes might not. Show us a pic!

hey, I just noticed your skid plate melted. i dint think a chamber would get hot enough- I guess a 4-stroke would've had a total meltdown.

I'm thinking the pipe would've fared okay until chunks of the CF pipe guard started going away.

hope your wrist heals.

(is that new avatar real similar to your old one?)

the starter cover is also melted........that's a first for me.
the TMD skid plate has been melted from other pipe hits and I even used the dremel to shave it down and clean it up.
Avatar? same since early 2015 that's from the start of loop 3 Tecate Enduro 2014 milliseconds before nailing a couple of fence posts and smashing my foot----but not crashing.
