• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

This is my first helmet cam vid from the MTDR trail ride at Loretta Lynn's yesterday.
Mud slinger

It's "GO PRO" so you have to crank the volume to hear it.

Hey MotorHead,

That was ALRIGHT

I like when you passed the guy and grab a handful of throttle.:D

Thanks. It was the end of the day, we'd logged about 80 miles on the trails and it was getting very congested on the trail. We were constantly coming up on slower riders and were trying to be nice. I don't mind getting a little aggressive with my buddies, they expect it.

Here's another short pass clip.
Wilson pass

Real good stuff !!

I really admire the way you guys thread it through those trees....being a prairie boy..I dont get ride trees to much....

what sound level were you running ???

Thanks. The helmet cam seems to take a little away from the steepness of the hills and the closeness of the trees. Seems to distort depth and distance perceptions, not to mention speed.

They said I was 97db at sound check.

Sorry I meant to say the camera volume.....my bad

I let the guy who slung the mud on my camera pull away a bit while I followed one of my buddies, then went to see if I could catch back up. About the time I got to him it seems my batteries ran out. Hunting him back down

Good pace !!

I was getting a little "green under the gills watching that"

those trees are bigger than saplings and getting real close...I can also see that if the sun got lower....those flickering shadows from the trees could be bothersome....

Yeah, it can be tricky. Guess that's why they sell some many "bark busters".

October 16,17, 18 is the fall ride, come on down and see what it's all about.
