  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Looking to replace mirrors on my TE511

Husqvarna
AA Class
I'd like to remove the mirrors on my TE511 and use something small that folds out of the way. I know that some mount into the end of the bars but I'm running EGO barkbusters so I don't think those are an option.

Any suggestions?

I use Aprilia mirrors which are OEM on the SXV line. They are a sturdy and good quality mirror that can swing away in a crash. They are also one of the best looking mirrors I have found.

I busted a lot of stock mirrors before I found the doubletakes. Nice mirrors and do not brake. Baja Designs mirrors won't stay in position and the metal fatigues and brakes.

Highway Dirt Bikes makes a nice handguard setup with integrated mirrors and turn signals. That's what I have on my TE310, and I love them.

Yes. M10x1 ball base screws into clutch and brake perches. I have the short arm. Long enough. I'm getting a second ball and a GPS mount from RAM for the right side.

Double takes are the way to go. Have them on all my trail bikes. Actual no tools required and I frequently just fold em down without stopping. They aren't particularly small but they will take a good wack in the woods. Worth the cost when I figured how much Time and money I was waiting welding every other mirror back together every second ride.

I run these and there is no issue with vibration.

This is my first dual-sport bike (te310-which I've geared down for trail). I've got the doubletake mirror also but I have to say that at highway speed (55mph) the vibration does make it hard to really see anything. This could be due to tire balance, high revs, etc. Do you guys do anything to balance these wheels for the street? I've got the stock knobbies which I'm sure don't help the vibration issues on the street.

Highway Dirt Bikes makes an excellent product. Their handguards with integrated mirrors and turn signals are perfect for making a street legal enduro bike, and their service is first rate.

Yes, in the ends. I searched forever to find anti-vibes that you could also link to cycra hand guards. I like the mirrors in the HWDB hand guards, but it's an instant ticket for us down here in CA.

So they will work with Cycras? Great! Ty already tapped and screwed my bars. Hope these are same thread.

Here is a video on tire balancing.
