  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Looking to buy a 2012 TE 310

A Class
Don't tell my Aussie mates but Im going to buy a 2012 TE 310 in late January. Im trading in my 2010 WR300 because it's just that little too much in certain situations and I'd fell more comfortable on a lower capacity 4T.

I heard the have the new 12 point injector and better efi is that right??

Any issues so far with the 2012's?

What should I look out for on these?

Any other advice??

Im planning on uprating my suspension cause im fat ass and look at adding a rekluse z start pro, along with the normal stuff, ie rad guards, bark busters, bash plate and tyres...

Thanks

Here is a list of what's new on the TE310 for 2012 models in the U.S.A. I purchased a left over because Husky was offering discounts and I ended up paying $1800 less then MSRP for my 2011. In the US the X-Lite motor was overhauled in 2011 and the upgrades were minor in but i'd love to hear what others have to say about what the changes really are.

• NEW Upgraded to premium Kayaba shock, stiffer suspension settings on both shock and Kayaba open-cartridge fork.
Non issue for me because I will be sending my suspension out to Factory Connection.
• NEW All-black, chromoly frame has increased rigidity and strength for optimized handling.
White, Black doesn't matter what you paint it it's still going to wear off.
• NEW Leo Vince exhaust flows freer and improves power.
True but for $1800 less I can buy a whole lot of aftermarket parts!
• NEW handlebar clamps offer two different offsets.
Very cool but again $1800 less = lots of sweet extra's
• NEW IPD (in-mold plastic design) graphics in striking new black/red color scheme.
IPD Graphics still present on 2011 just a different graphic which is still attractive.
• NEW Silver anodized Excel rims.
Dealers had complained that when changing tire the black rims were getting beat up. I prefer the black ones and I am sure in a few years they will to back just to mix it up and keep things new.

so from 2011 to 2012 it doesn't appear that much is new. I have 12 miles on my bike and am just starting to get the guards I ordered in so I can't comment on and issues so far except the rear directional are prone to breaking when swinging you leg over for the first time

No 12 port or ECU in the TE310, that's in the TXC310. I am pleased with my 12 TE310, had some flash out issues out of the box, but dealer lent me Ibeat software and we made a couple slight adjustments to TPS and it is fine now.
Love the Kayaba suspension just like it is, it works. Going to change oil and grease swing arm linkage this weekend.

Yeah I might just organize the JD tuning Kit for it. Im trading in a WR300 for it as its just a little too much in the tight tech stuff i do. Do you guys reckon a rekluse will help too....

It Looks like im now getting the 2012 and Husky Aus is retro fitting the ECU and 12 point injector. Seems Husky Aus have klisteend to the masses. When I get it next week I'll let you guys know...

Man, the 310 sure sounds like an ideal size for about anything but wide open desert. Going to have to snag a ride on an x-lite version someday. Having a little more bottom end would be nice in the tight stuff.

Where abouts in Alabama are you located if I may ask? I'm inbound to Huntsville this summer.

It is. You get all the benefits of the 250 handling and fuel economy etc., with none of the downsides. More lowend, midrange and topend. The 300cc Husky is the ideal engine size for 4t dirtbikes except for open desert.
