• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

It has been a couple of months... time for someone to start making or importing 449/511 bits ..

I'm sure Kelly over at Motorsportz must be at the final stages of making one for the 511/449

Although I think he likes his so much, that he just don’t feel like stop riding and doing some work for us no more...

The touratech 2011 catalog has a lot of items for the 449, including engine guard, but they don't show up on the website. I emailed their customer service today to find out what's up.

We, 7602 racing have had prototype rad braces/guards done for about 2 months now. They have been working out great. I've not gotten the feeling that there are a ton of 449/511's out there or that owners are really looking for braces for this bike. At the moment this project is at the bottom of our production schedule. If there are enough of you out there really itching for braces I'm sure we can re organize the schedule to get them out a little earlier. Shoot me a PM if you have been looking for braces and are interested.

Here's some pics so you can see what our version looks like. Front view, back view, and with optional front guard.

Call George...Up-Tite Husky...they are truly good looking...and very fuctional. you can see a pic on http://www.uptitehusky.com

K totally don't get his marketing plan. His website shows all kinds of pics of products but there is nothing to say what a product is, what it fits or how much it costs. Why do I want to buy his stuff again?

I emailed P3 with a question today and they got back to me in a couple of hours. Even offered to let me try a guard to see if it would fit and if not I could just send it back. THAT is customer service.

Mr. 7602, I officially want a set of those rad guards for my SMR511. Please and thank you.

George is a one man show. He sort of got talked into the Internet site and it's never gotten updated or finished. He doesn't do credit cards or paypal. Mostly it's COD, check or cash and he does business on the phone. That said, he answers his phone and will talk as little or as much as necessary. He keeps up on changing the design of the skid plates and slip-ons mufflers to fit newer bikes. These are his main products (besides selling Huskys). Also sells levers, throttle tubes, oil fill caps, front axle nuts, carb filters, LED headlights, does engine mods and rebuilds and offers advice.

+1...I like doing business with George because he know's what he's talking about...My buddy just drove from Texas to purchase a TXC449 from Geogre...and there is a Husky dealer in my friends town. That says alot..!

I ordered a skidplate for my 511 over a month ago from P3, still waiting for it. I'll post a pic when I get it. I believe TCI (Turbo City) has skidplates as well.

Well, it finally arrived so, as promised, I'll show you what the P3 skidplate looks like. One thing is for sure, this a very lite weight plate.
