  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Hi There

Can anyone point me in the direction of a new tank for the TE510... 2009 model. Makes / manufacturers pictures etc....

The 75-80km fuel range is of problem and I really need some extra range...

ims makes a 3 gallon tank. i like mine and get at least 70 miles per tank running mixed riding (single track, 2 track, jeep trails).

You get 25 MPG?!?!?

not exactly sure what i get. all i know is that i have 70 miles on my trip after riding the michaux dual sport a couple weekends ago and i still have fuel left over.

i don't know, is 25 good or bad? my street bike gets over 40 so i guess it could be bad.

thx for the info.. i think the ims is a good option... pricing seems good from the us... the safari tank ( made in australia is good ) but very big and also quote expensive..

thx for the info

I have the safari on my 08 TE450. It came on the bike when I bought it. The fit and finish is great, very unobtrusive when riding off road, provides a big increase in protection for the rads. If I was in the market for a larger tank, I would balk at the price, but after having it on the bike, I would buy one! Considering another safari for my 950se ($800 ouch).
