• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Had a great weekend in Summerland BC.
It was all about Trials. Just over 50 rides and everyone had a great time.
Thought I'd share a few pictures.

Great pics. I used to do trails back in the eighties. I value a place to sit down on the bike too much, these days.

Nice! I think since it's motorcycles, you should put this in Main Forum. Cross training for Husky riding.

lots of great memories in summerland Dave.....

great shots....I like seeing the focus and concentration on the faces:thumbsup:

and of course the desperate look on the guys face as his bike is coming down on him :banghead:

Those are great. Too bad this one is blurry and his arm is covering the OOHHH Sh_t expression I'm sure he's wearing.

I completely agree. Not sure why this is in the Cafe Diner, I'll move it on over to the Main forum.

I've love trials since first seeing it as a kid in "On Any Sunday". A few decades later I will be going to my first ever event, the national up in Highgate, VT, although I was the crowd participant in Tommi Ahvala's extreme trial show a couple years ago.

For some reason I've been drawn to it again and am actually looking for a good used bike to start playing around on. I can easily see myself as skywalker II.

those are great .. thanks for sharing . not many ( none ) trials events here in southern nevada .. if there were i would definetly compete ....

This Sat. was spent at the Ioco Trials event near Port Moody BC. I rode in the morning and checked in the afternoon for the Pros. Always a thrill watching the best making their bikes dance on the rocks.
Didn’t get a chance to get to many pics this time, but just had a blast.
The weather was perfect, cool and overcast.

Bill is like 65 and still better than most. As he cleans the double bench of my section.

This guy takes a dab at the double bench but makes it.

This guy...well he didn't do so good. But he saves his bike.
Either that or his hands are glued to his grips.

A friend took this in the morning of me.

Nice video and pics!

Any chance one of the riders was 2ply from TT? Think he is in the NW somewhere.

Hey, how come you're not giving us a thrill with your photo, huh?

You look all smooth and in control and skilled and everything... :snore:
You need to start throwing your bike off the cliffs!

You need to get yourself down to southeastern Utah sometime. It is a trials rider's paradise! I think I hear 5 Miles Of Hell calling your name :D

I was supposed to be at that event with Jason and Max but the water pump seals and shaft I needed for my Sherco showed up Monday instead of Friday like they were supposed to. :banghead:

I talked to Bill quite a bit at a local event a couple months ago. Super nice guy.

I am sure you probably remember Jason on the shiny 4-stroke Montessa.

Jason said it was the hardest trials event he had been to, I am bummed that I missed it.
