  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

A good bike..... Last of the all white Huskys, very classy. I can remember when Kevin Hines rode one in National Enduro Series. Real old time Husky handling, real stable and slow turning. Never noted for excess power, but can do an easy 90+mph with 6 speed tranny. Main points are.... Dellorto carb likes to be clean, a little dirt will cause problems. Magnets on flywheel come loose on some, no spark. Check the valves and they'll stay in spec a long time. Hall's Husky in Illinois can get you everything you need. I just sold my '01 TE400 which was the last of the single cam 350/410/400 family and already miss it.
Enjoy,
Norman

I resemble that post! I now have a '93 350 WXC. Great bike, at its best when things open up.... grass track, wide sweeping trails. I love my 2T bikes, for my favorite tight and technical, but there is something intoxicating, about that old fashioned linear Husky 4T power... Pure Thrust!

Hey Norman, was wondering how you liked yours. There was one 4sale locally here for 1k, FTR is having a bomber class soon (20+yrs old) & thought that might be a fun one to ride. Whatdoya think?

Pretty steep price on this one, but looks very clean. Would probably make a great NW Dualsport.

Is it similar to an XR400 in terms of power delivery and handling?

That is a 1994 model so it does not suffer from the loose magnets on the flywheel. They are real reliable and mainly require oil changes and air filter cleaning. The price is pretty steep even though it looks to be in good condition.

I had a '93 and it was a really good bike. Even better when you turn them into a 420. Actually, I should have kept that bike. They were about 20 years ahead of their time.

My previous posts sum it up.... I like it as an extra bike. I'm small, so wrestling it in technical single track is hard for me. When things open up ISDE style, its a hoot. Old 4 stroke Huskys are very front end biased, so they are not wheelie monsters. It more plows through the terrain, than floats over it. That front end traction makes it a grass track animal though! Brakes and suspension feel a little dated, hard to believe how they raved about the Nissin and Showa set up back then. I need to send suspension to Drew @ WER for a freshen up.

I'd offer him $900 and enjoy a good old fashioned Italian take, on a Swedish Husky 4T bike!

That heavier front end feel is just a 4t thing you gotta get used to I'd guess as even the current 4t are a little heavier than my 2t bike.
Is the engine braking on these earlier models even greater than todays' 4t engines?

That might be the perfect bike for me here as fast DS bike for looping these islands ... :) ... and I'd give 900 ...

Pics look good and that bike just might have many more yrs left in it when you compare to the late models 70s bike that are still running with engine MODs as needed ...

One more question: Have you ever removed that big piece of plastic off the side of the tank for the nuda look?
