  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Living with a 610 & a 300

I have thought this would be the perfect 2 bike combo.

610 for the fast open stuff and a 300 for the hills, dunes and tight snot.

Whats it actually like living with both? I have the 2006 TE610e and its been my only bike since 2008 but even I am tiring of thrashing tight single trail on it.

I grew up on 2T and have an itch for small and light. I havent ridden a WR 300 or a 250 so do any of you actually have this combo.

I can do a 500k day ride on the 610 and still enjoy waist deep 90kph deep sandy whoops but it takes alot out of you.

So should I go the top end of the 250 or the torque of the 300.

Anyone heard of an electric leg for the 250 or 300 in the near future?

Sounds like a winning combo to me.
I have 510/300 and if to do over again I'm pretty sure it would be with a 630/300 combo. The 510 I like to refer to as a dirt bike that can do dual sport and the 630 as a dual sport that can do dirt.:D
Hey you just need to throw in a Trials bike in there some where and you'll have all you bases covered.

It will be a little ironic if dirt bikers embrace the electric bike quicker and more thoroughly than any other racing or driving segment of the motor driven world does with their equivalent.

That was my plan, to get a 610 or 630 to go with my 08 TE 250/Athena 300. Maybe I'll get a used one but it seems more likely I'd get an electric first. Even the wife might right that.

The silence of the electric bike appeals to me. They will be classed as a MTB instead of a motorbike. People wont frown and hate you and you will be able to ride in a lot more spots.
