  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Was I suppose to get an additional rear set up for the plate/light set up with the "power up" kit?
Obviously that long piece is not going to last. What are the options out there? Cant find a stock Husqvarna part yet? I would also like to replace the rear turn signals. I think the fronts are protected well enough for now. I'll replace those when the "fall" off...:excuseme:

No second l/p setup. I took a dremel and cut off the lower portion on mine and fabricated a new mount. I cut so only the first black portion was left. then monted the lp mounted to that. I did have to unplug the lp light. it came out pretty clean. if interested I could post a picture or 2.

I modifyed the OEM. By removing the license plate light and replacing it with a tiny LED, the plate can be moved up quite a bit. Also replaced the indicators with Enduro Engineering blinkers.

The LED was $3.00 and the resistor already in the attached wire.....simple plug & play.

That rear looks awesome ! Not sure I have the skill set yet to do that but it gives me a good plan to try and follow. So no one sells an aftermarket version?

I replaced mine with LED stuff from Rocky Mountain. I just need to get a plate frame, drill a few holes and mount the plate.

Also did the front blinkers, as I did not like the look of those orange "honkers" on the front.:)

Ripped off one of the rear turn indicators so its time to replace. I may try and do what you dod on the back with LED's. Did you have to get a relay unit to make the LED's work properly? As far as the fronts.. I agree they look stupid. I dont think I can pull the ones off my Multistrada and make those work however:cheers:

Just getting around to putting the same Rocky Mountain "Tusk" rear blinkers on. Question .. did you eliminate the existing wires from the old lights or splice the new and old leads together? There seems to be a lot of wire there. Also.. I did buy a relay but does not seem to be neccesary . The wires are also not color coded so I guess its trial and error on matching them up. Thanks for any help..

I spliced them together. Didn't bother with the relay either, I like the fast blink anyways. The wiring was not difficult to figure out.

Sorry for the slow reply.
