  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Hey out there, i got the bug to get setup with lhrb last year. Last spring found a brembo master cylinder for four stroke. Built a custom plate to mount it up. It worked great for like 4-5 rides. Then Literally the weekend i felt finally comfortable with it i was gonna buy one from rekluse. Then that last ride on a warm day my rear brake comety locked up and brake line of all things spurted brake fluid. I guess maybe I had it to bordeline for adjustments? I out my original two stroke master cylinder back on for last year. So i know brake is fine. Id like to mount it up again but wanted advice on how much adjustment i should make sure there is..what to be carefull of etc.

Humm very strange, do you have the rear brake pedal aswell as the hand mount one? Could of blown out the line if you had foot and hand on at same time.

I would say the master cylinder's piston itself isn't releasing all the way and it's causing the brake caliper to drag. This will cause it to lock up and if it is still ridden it can burst the lines. Remove the rod end from the pedal and check for slack. The actuator rod connected to the pedal may have slack but check to see that the piston it pushes on in the master cylinder is actually returning to it's fully released position.

the piston will be covering the hole to the reservior . so the system is closed .
how much preload is on the master cylinder ? did you have to push the rod in to get it attached how you have it ?

Yes i had to push it in to get it attached. It sure "seemed" like when i released the rod it would retract all the way. But...

But you said you mounted it in First post.... Ahh fek it you guys are all on this one anyway lol firecrotch you is in safe 'ands now ayieete.

Did it seem like the brakes were dragging? (thinking it caused the fluid to boil)
It was perfect for a couple rides until the last psrt of the ride where it failed. I was loosing power(draging) and i was thinking uh oh..i am loosing compresion. Lol wrong
