• Hi everyone,

    As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

    When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

    Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

    Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

    Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Lectron testing news and EFI stuff too...

I just wanted everyone to know we at Motosportz are in continuous testing and conversation with Lectron. Through this collaboration we have moved these carbs closer to perfection for the 2 stroke dirt bike crowd. We have size modified the carbs, worked on settings, changed out bolts to better work with our needs and servicing, have custom cables made up, etc. What you don't see is all the work happening behind the scenes to make them even better. We are continuously working to make them even better. Right now we are in the midst of testing Motosportz custom ground rods for the 165 and other bikes setups.

the point is please don't just think we are here to sell carbs and move on, we are 100% into this and working to improve an already fantastic offering.

Additionally we have been talking about EFI. I knew a log time ago Lectron was working on this and has made some real nice progress on this front. I was not to talk about this but see they now mention it on their web site so thought you all might like to know.

Lectron was #1 in the Dyno HP shoot-out in the Pro snowmobile industry for the second year in a row. We also won the Dyno HP shoot-out for the V-Twin!

Check out "The Horse Magazine" January issue for the "Brew" article on the fantastic installation of the Lectron HD bolt-on carb.

We also introduced our new "Injectrons" Lectrons first EFI Throttle Bodies at the last race of 2012. The throttle bodies were installed on HTP / Ryan Schnitz Pro Mod Bike. With some expert advice from Cecil at HTP, Kevin at Lectron and Motec EFI we were able to be the number one qualifier second time down the track. This is just the beginning of Lectrons venture into EFI. Big things to come in 2013!

Hey Kelly, do you think one of those would would work well on my Yamaha TZM? (150cc 2t crotch rocket) It currently uses a Mikuni VM30SS/1
 
I bet it would work good on a TZM I'm so happy with my lectron I will probably get a set for my rd 350 when I get around to getting a new crank in it.
 
I'm coming over to the States in September and just may have to order one. Hand carrying back to Indo is the only way to do it without getting hit with ridiculous charges/taxes.

Yes, Tim said it is great on his daughters KX100 and people love them ont he 125/160 so why not. :thumbsup: They make smaller ones if required
 
Thanks, I think I'm gonna pull the trigger. I don't want to get into any engine mods on the bike with it still in pristine condition. the idea of eliminating the circuits sounds like exactly what my bike needs.
