Chasing some other opinions on getting a Lectron carb for my partners YZ85.
Her bike is a 2010 model which she's had since new, and has always been on the rich side for as long as I've known her (2 and a bit years). It's probably due for a piston and ring, but having never really been ridden THAT hard, and jetting always been on the rich side I'm comfortable leaving the motor as is for now. It still produces some pretty good power and not having a PV it's good fun! We even mini-motarded it for a while and we've both done some races on it in that trim. But I would like to give her a couple more ponies to play with.
I could mess around with her stock carb, but seeing how easy it was to get good results out of the Lectron on my WR300, I'd like to get something similar for her. The fuel economy gains would be a huge bonus as she cuts it fine already if we go for a long ride.
Has it been done? Would a 36mm Lectron be too big for the smaller 85 motor?
Appreciate any comments!
