• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Knight to BMW for 2009

Next year should be interesting!:oldman: Guys on KTM Talk are just fuming about this.:D Husky is still doing it the way they always have.... find new talent and bring it along.:oldman:

Nice to see BMW is taking the dirt business serious.
I just do not think the BMW dealers are ready or able to support "true" off road riders. Just hope they do not hold back Husky developments and support to make the BMW look better.
KTM is doing a fine job of pinching out the mom and pop dealers that truely supported the dirt rider, sure hope BMW does not do anything stupid like cutting suport to existing Husky dealers.

BMW has a support program for Husky dealers????

For the life of me, I don't understand why BMW bought Husky. They're still treating it like the proverbial dirty red-head step child. If they "cared" about it, they 1) Wouldn't have canned Scott Summers, 2) They'd be entering pro riders (like Knight) mounted on Husky's in conjunction with the new 450X.

Are they afraid the TXC's would outperform their new toy?

OK, I'm done whining... :banghead:

Keep up the whining, perhaps someone that "could" do something about the situation might see your comments.
Sort of like the rocket science planning someone at Honda must be doing. They build a "cutting edge" trials bike (Montesa 4RT), pay for some of the best world riders, and now not importing into the states. Can be purchased if you want to go through the effort, but why???
Prior to the BMW 450X becoming available for sale, I was speaking with our local BMW dealer. He had no clue, a month later one was on the floor for sale.

So the idea might be
WEC Round 6 Mexico, Valle del Bravo July 18-19
Funduro, Mexico, Valle del Bravo August 8-10?

Then go back to Europe.... logic is always a good thing.

WEC round will replace Funduro. Diaz brothers have organized it, to prove they can run a world class event. FIM agrees and it has given them '09 WEC GP and then in '10 the ISDE.

There's more to Mexico than Baja!

No not that. I followed the Funduro. Was impressed by the HUGE turnout of fans. Oblucki really liked it.

Norm i just dont get the G450X thing.

Why? Its not going to sell. And its not going to help re-brand BMW to the younger crowd. It will do the opposite. It proves BMW is elitist and out of reach, and KTM will continue to take market share.

Race the freakin Huskys, put 'Husky by BMW' or whatever on the swingarm. Sign up Juha and Knighter on TXC's and take KTM market share, in the process re-brand BMW for the younger crowd.

Valle de Bravo......WEC event cool and lush zone at 6K altitude,,,I am there****************************************!
cheap flights from Volaris out of TJ to Mex city!!!
