• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Well it was extremely HOT...97 and about 80% humidity....YIKES

Got the jump with the WR300 w/Rekluse in 3rd gear got to the first turn and my kick starter is done...ah takes a second and the Senior A line goes by...poop

so I follow in the dust right on their tail....pick a few off here and there...get to the leader and we play who can miss the most turns...couldnt get in a flow....i washed the front wheel out in a turn and 2 get by...i pick it up and see both forks covered in oil(no wonder bike felt weird)...took about half the first loop to catch back up to the 2 guys in front of me and finished out the first loop there....

Continue to follow close since the dust was crazy even worse now and I couldnt pass since the trail was burned in now and nobody making any wrong turns....the field and open stuff was really rough.... I was right behind the 2nd place guy(like 5ft) on a power line trail... he hits a rock kicks sideways...I hit the same rock it kicks me offline since my front had no dampning at this point...guess front wheel missed a hole but the rear didnt...threw me forward and the front hit a different hole....had a 45-50 mph yard sale that was actually kinda cool...I belly flopped the bike landed upside down on my bike bounced up on two wheels and pretty much came to a stop and fell over....I ran up picked it up(still running) and continued on while I access the damage and tried to stay cool by moving...

turns out bike was perfect(besides fork seals) and I had a torn jersey....yippie...but rang my bell a little so I finish out that lap and one more and called it a day...finished 2nd and counted my lucky stars...felt a little sick on drive home from the heat...

so time to clean the scooter up and take off the clutch cover to check whats wrong with the spring and rebuild the forks... and change these sucky tires (s12s).... I like the mx31s but the 300 rips the knobs off...so gonna try some bridgestones and see whats happens...

Thanks to KTM Parts House, Lexington Motorsports, Rekluse, Socal Decal....
