  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Just Saying Thank You!

About a month ago I jumped off my 2003 WR450 and threw my leg over a 2013 TE 449. When I was researching the bike before I purchased it and after my purchase, this forum has been invaluable with the information everyone provides. I am in the process of doing all my mods and buying some armor. I am typically a quiet guy reading and absorbing so I just wanted to say thank you to everyone who posts. I am hoping as I get experience on the Husky I can return the favor someday.

I love the bike so far. It feels a lot more nimble than the WR. The throttle is a lot more responsive and it feels quicker out of the corners. The wider stance at the pegs felt really strange at first, but I got used to it by the end of the ride. I look forward to riding the bike for years to come.

Congrats and glad you are enjoying the bike. I can't help with that bike but agree it's a good crowd here.

Enjoy the new ride! Just curious, did you do the grey wire mod and uncorked your WR450 (rejet, gytr exhaust)? I have a 2004 model and love it. I have a TE250 and it's nice, not a huge fan of the Close Gear Ratio , but wonder if it's the 250cc that's affecting my judgement.

The handling on the Huskies are top notch.

Let er rip!

I am with you on this thread buddy , without this forum I would still be wondering WTH

with my 11 te 310 but thanks to these guys its all going smooth.
