• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Just got a new "BETTER" bike!

no, not really, I bought and installed the Seat Concepts "High" seat with the gripper top and carbon side panels and red stitching. Not only does it look awesome but it keeps you right up there where you need to be, on the motorcycle, not in it.

I'm 6'2" and 175 lbs. I have to stand on my toes at stop now but the purpose of this seat was to shorten the amount of travel from sitting to standing while on the trail. What a difference. I know its been said before but these seats are the bomb. The old seat is like a 35 year old Archie Bunker longue chair and now it feels ridged, solid and something out of the KTM catalog. No more knee torture or back aches from standing.

I'm Expecting all the banjo fittings to extend my brake line then the 2" riser will be the cherry on the top and she'll be finished.

oh, PS: The GF just got the 2011 BMW G650GS and I'm loving the interchangability of the parts. I now have her mirrors on and they have a smaller profile with a more stylish cat-eyed shape. I believe they will give me less rear view sight but much better then our big square wind flags on the TR's. I bet they even may help with the high speed wobble........

soon I can change my avitar

Got a high seat model too. I've never ridden as far in one "sitting" as I have with the "Seat Concepts" Saddle. I rode over 500 miles one day last week with this seat and I had no dreaded "Monkey Butt" at the end of the day.
