  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Jumping ship, TXC250 for sale

A Class
Unlike krieg, I rode a 09 KTM 200 XC-W and just love the little chainsaw. So much so that the 2010 TXC250 has to go. To each his own, right?

Listed in classifieds- pretty well blinged out as it sits, open to offers.

*scratching head*

I believe the point of the classifieds is to keep the for sale threads out of the technical bike discussions, so people don't need to wade through them when searching for technical information in the future.

Being consistent with your moderating would help a ton. I didnt see you comment once on several recent "selling my bike" threads in the 4s section. By observation I assumed it wasnt a big deal. Please delete the entire thread if its not appropriate.

It is hard to be consistent, the forum is pretty hard to keep up on. I did notice a few threads that talked about selling but also included other things such as 'how much is it worth'.

Not a big deal at all, but if the % of posts are large enough we can deal with it then. I'm trying to make the forum as friendly as possible, personally that is my only goal for how these forums are used.

I didn't read this as a for sale thread...it reads more like "you might be able to talk me out of selling the txc if you can convince me the 200 is not the right choice...and if you don't succeed, here's where the bike can be found..." The for sale thread is much more detailed with price, etc...

Whatever. Sad to see de-converts go ;)

Best of luck with the 200. GREAT bike... just not for me.

Kleemann,

Krieg and I swiched bikes and within 5 minutes we both ready to trade and we did. My TXC for his XC-W. Different strokes for different folks. If Husqvarna had the equivalent, I would be on it. Until then, I'll ride the KTM, or until Krieg is ready to get rid of another toy.

So..... thats how Krieg got his 2010 TXC 250 and you ended up on the 200 KTM? If so that makes sence. Better for both of you than trade in's at a dealers. Different strokes for different fokes. Now what do I want???

I hope it's a lot better than the KTM 200XC-W.... that wouldn't be too hard!:D

KTM is showing the world how to sell bikes ... I was reading where their PROs are going to start racing the 2t & 4t together on the same track in their country ... Now that's support for your local bike companies ...

And they are sending the forces (and heavy hitters) to GH at the FIM event this year ... If that 350 does well ... I think you know the deal ...

I've ridden several KTM 200's, both the XC and XC-W's and I really liked them. Beautiful singletrack bikes, good power and just plain fun to ride.
When the power valves are set properly on these, they are very easy to ride, with nice low and mid range grunt.

I've seriously considered buying one IN ADDITION to my huskies, but I'm not quite ready to pay a $2-3000 premium for a bike because it's orange.
