• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

JT Cycles in Michigan???

04asphalt

Husqvarna
AA Class
I'm looking for anybody who has had their Husky worked on by JT Cycles in Battle Creek.
I need to get my fist service along with some iBeat work. Trying to decide where to go.

feel free to PM if you prefer :thumbsdown:

I need to change the description of the dealers review forum - that area is intended for known good input on dealers that people have had good luck with.

General Q & A about dealers should be in the Main forum so I moved it for you.

Hey another Michigan rider here...

I have not been to JT Cycles. I seen their ad in the CCC trailrider magazine and have been curious about them too.

I bought my bike from Hall's Cycle and made the long distance there to pick it up too.:applause: I usually get all my parts from Hall's since they are top notch on customer service.

For maintenance items, I just do it myself and avoid the dealers. Other than the ibeat software, why not just do the service yourself. Save a few bucks and get familiar with your new bike. It really is not difficult and I'm new to four strokes too.

since I need the FI adjusted I decided for my first service I would have the dealer do it all at once.
I guess I'm going to Hall's, was hoping someone had service experience with JT so I could save myself a trip:banghead:

Well I have never used their service group. But I would at least talk to them before driving all the way to Hall's.
I have ordered parts from them, that has went well.

I agree with the other guys here. I would call them up on the phone or talk to them in person (if not too far from you). Pick their brain a bit on their service and ibeat knowledge. If they sound decent, then give them a try. I'm all for supporting Hall's, but agree to give the little guy a chance too. Worst case scenario is that JT can't help you or do it incorrectly. Then, you will be heading to Hall's anyways. This could save you a long distance trip and overnight stay in a hotel.

EDIT: Something else to consider... you could probably buy the ibeat software for the money that you would spend to travel to Hall's, pay their labor, and stay in a hotel. Then, you would have a new ibeat toy to play with tuning your bike.

Just give him a call at his shop, here is a link to his home page that was in his profile. http://www.jtcyclebcmi.com/

JT Cycles is not a paying sponsor and it is not fair to the other sponsors who are paying the server costs (Motosportz, Motoxotica, 7602, BRP, etc) for these types of discussions to be happening.

Sorry I didn't know any of the sponsors sold exhaust. Thanks for the link.

That is not really the point. If anyone was allowed to talk about their products freely there would be no paying sponsors cause there would be no reason to pay. Then there would be no Cafe Husky.

Here is one that sells all kinds of great Husqvarna parts and ships daily
http://www.motoxotica.com/

Thats cool I didn't start the thread and didn't actually know if they were a sponsor or not, just didn't think. Hey thanks for the tip on motoxtica I will give them a call.
