• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Johnson Valley: Feb 21-23 2014: Before It's All Gone Ride

Many of you know... Johnson Valley is being taken over by the military very soon and this may be our last chance to ride and enjoy all of JV before the Hummers start rolling in on us.

FFs from the ADV website are coming... the invitation went out to all RIDERS... as well as the DBA dudes... KTMTalk fellers... and even ThumperTalk crowd. We'll see who really rides !

We may have two camps North & South for everyone's convenience and to stretch the rides by sharing fuel and beers at both ends with the other camp ! Location or locations to be decided

I am personally looking forward to this ride like no other ! Love the area... in my back yard... been off the bike for months... and I haven't seen some of these guys for a couple years !

RSVP if you like... people like to know who is coming. You don't need a login to rsvp... but if you want one it's free. http://ridersonline.org/2012/smf/index.php/topic,243.0.html

What kind of riding you ask... most of us are looking for technical single track with rocks and such. But as with any open invite there will be multiple groups with a variety of skill levels. You should be able to hook up with someone of your liking.

Lotta guys will have families out there on this one.

Looks like we will have two camps... Means Dry Lake off Boone Rd in the south... and Cougar Buttes off Camp Rock Rd on the north end. I'll be at the Buttes.

I'm not sure I'll have the Palm tree up... but the flags should be there... and I have those blue graphics with the RIDERS Dirt Bike Logo on the tail gate.

White old skewl F250 with shell... easy to spot. :thumb

Ya know what sucks about the desert? Nuttin....

UPDATE: It's late and I still have a few more things to attend to tomorrow before heading out. Should be in camp by 2PM.

Guys are there now with more arriving by noon tomorrow (Friday). If in doubt, just ask them if they are with BOLT.

Fantastic crew of people that came out !

Camp was like a little town with neighborhoods from all the different riding Forums. Saturday we had four separate groups out at once. It was great to meet so many of the screen names... and spend time with some good old friends.

Brett had the long distance award for coming from WA to Encinitas... buys a bike... blows up a truck... borrows another... and still makes it to JV before most everyone else. Herculean effort buddy... was great to meet you.
