  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

JD Tuner Praise

Mine is on its way from over the pond thanks to Kelly @ Motosportz:cheers: so I too am hoping for some improvement on my 2010 TE250, not expecting miracles just smoother delivery and a bit less bog off idle would be perfect.

I went to the JD website and they don't list a JD tuner for the TXC449. Do you use the tuner for the TE449 for the TXC?

Thanks

The tuner is the same, I will give you a hint to save some money, look through the motosportz page for the christmas specials and you will save some good $$ on your tuner.

Hi all, got myself a TE310 '09 recently and bought a JD 6X pretty much straight away (for all the same reasons that you guys have) and threw on a 12 tooth on the front, what a difference its usable and fun, just the way it was meant to be. Sadly manufacturers these days are restricted with strict emission rules and out of th box anemic lean bikes are what we get!
My prior bike was a KLX300 that comes with a CV carbie on it to meet emissions! Talkin about anemic off th bottom!
This is from a thread of mine -
"Now I've installed the JD 6x I have noticed a backfire/stall when snapping the throttle from low revs. Could this be from the mixture at idle/low revs being to rich? I have not changed any of the 6X settings"
I found it ran great with the out oif the box settings with th insert removed from the exhaust -sounds awesome but just a bit too loud for our local trails(the greenies will throw rocks at us again:cry:). I've now played around a bit with the lower settings and leaned the mixture down to 2 on the grn/blue and leaned the grn down to 3/4 and she's running pretty good now.
Some more tinkering while out on th trails, that's the other great thing about the 6X you can do it on the fly, and she'll have to be surgically removed from my arse!:)
Best $320NZD I've spent, I might get the iBeat next purely for tuning(and playin around) as our local Husky dealer charges like a wounded bull and doesn't even have a Husky on th shop floor.

I just purchased one from the US (Cyclebuy.com). After 5000km of otherwise running well I am over the flameout/stall at Idle -1/8 throttle. I think it is particualry worse on my 310 as it is geared up a tad (14/50). I am also after some more low end torque as I think thats all is missing as the mid-upper revs are absolutely excellent for a 300cc 4T.
