• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Anyone going to the JP this weekend in Michigan. I will be there on my little TC250 ready to rip it up in the Michigan woods.

Look me up if you are going and I bet there will be some real Canadian beers hidden away in my cooler of contraband that I smuggled across the border.

Hmmm...you've peaked my interest Scott any room on your train?:busted:
I'd have to grab a sparkie from you...

EDIT nevermind it's already full...bummer

That was a fun race! They did a nice job laying out tight Michigan singletrack. This was the 85th year for the Jack Pine Enduro. Thanks to everyone for putting on wonderful event!

This was my first enduro and I entered the C Senior (30+) class with a couple of my friends. I was on Row 9D. My goal was to finish in the top half of my class. I ended up in 22nd place (out of 65 riders). Success! :applause: My 2008 CR125 was perfect and so much fun to ride in this type of terrain.

In a very tight, twisty 9 mile section called "Marsh Madness", I finally got to see Russell Bobbitt and Mike Lafferty pass me and vanish into the woods like ghosts. Wow, those guys can fly between trees. It was simply amazing to watch.

Not sure where in Ontario you are, but you may want to give the Mini-pine enduro a try in Mid may at the Ganny. That'll give you a taste of what the JP would be like.

If you have a blue plate, the Beagle Bash at Turkey Point in April is also another similar to the JP, terrain wise

I don't think you are getting over your head. You can just ride for fun like a trail ride if you want to. I'm not a racer and entered it as my first race. It was fun. The year I went, it was a National event with the restart format for each section. I don't think it is a National for 2012. You may need to be street legal if it is run like a normal enduro. The National was nice since it was closed-course and any bike could be run.

thanks guys i can't make the beagle bash and i guess i should really start on getting my bike blue plated
