• Hi everyone,

    As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

    When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

    Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

    Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

    Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Man Norm I do not know what went down but I hate reading this. I really like your posts and input and you seem like one hell of a nice guy. I hope whatever happened was not upsetting enough to alienate you from coming here, that would be a real shame. I was surprised by your objection to the GasGas thread but understand. You (and Joe) are instrumental in this 125 resurgence and that is very cool. Hope whatever happened blows over and your come back stronger, your very wanted here by many I am sure.

As to my comments above i meant nothing bad by it. I just find it funny we people complain about threads (any thread) and then keep going back to it. EZ to just not click on it any more. I have to do this all the time with Politics and other hot topics. Was not meant as a slap in anyone face, not by a long shot just and observation that you can just choose not to read the thread.
 
I choose to not read threads all the time, as I am not interested on every single topic posted here. I still love the forum though and would be glad to have some place to post about all my green bikes. I thought there was a thread a while ago about about this very topic and having a forum area for other bikes.:D

On last months Cycle World magazine there’s an advertisement on the back for this bike
It still hanging around the house, back side up for me to catch glimpses of it every time I pass by

And it sucks cause it makes those googely eyes at me and I swear it whispers sweet nothings in my ear, telling me things like;

I congratulate you on your openness ... and I´m sure it´s done you a lot of good and that you feel a lot better now that you´re out of the cupboard. You´ll find that there are quite a few people who prefer a fat Austrian maiden with pigtails to lithe and supple Scandinavian/Italian enchantresses.

Chacun `a son gout ... as my sovereign is want to repeat.

It takes all types ....

I'll borrow and ride and talk about any bike, any anywhere, anytime, almost ... But I'll buy & ride the guy in this pic before I purchase what I call a real dirtbike other than a Husky to call my own :)

Also, you guys take alot of this stuff way too seriously ... Ain't no enemies here ... We might be the last real Husky riders depending on this bmw thing ... That is serious but not life threatening :) ... I think we are all privileged to be at this point in our lives and the world ..

Just for the record, I typed this when the forum opened. Cafe Husky, which I consider my home much more than 'just a forum' as some would refer to it as, was never meant to be 'Husqvarna only':

A very warm welcome one and all.

The goal of this site is to give a place for Husqvarna enthusiasts to have a place with a relaxed atmosphere to discuss whatever you want within reason – stories, trip reports, talk about the bikes, and whatever else may be on your mind. Non-Husqvarna owners are also welcome.
 
Norm, don't know what happened here, but I ask you to stick around. I enjoy your educated comment on things Husky very much. We are really only a small number at CH and it is not good to loose a brother. So please put the upset behind you, square your shoulders and jump back in please.

I consider Norm and myself to be very good friends....a few times a week we shoot the guff on the phone..and I find his conversation very informative...priceless..and we have a few laughs to boot.....

I hope that never stops....

Also found out that all of us here on CH share many similar passions...some of which are not related to bikes and that has become even more interesting..for eg Norman and myself bought the exact same 2010 Arctic Cat race sleds...and its been fun exchanging info on set up and maintenance etc...

except he bought his late in the season...and didnt get to ride it too much....knowing him he's itching for the snow to fly..(me too)

The Gas Gas thread was perhaps a bit over the top for a forum with dedicated members of such a historic brand...and we..well I for one... got a little carried away with it...I have been keeping it under wraps but.....heck I will admit it that I did order a 2011 EC250....and yes I am a 125 guy... always will be...but this will be a new ball game for me...maybe it wont work out..I dont know yet

Doesnt diminish my love for Husky one bit and the wonderful folks I have the privilege to chat with

I liken this place to a good family. If you whine, bitch, complain, and otherwise piss off the members of your family and you are permanently shunned and NOT eventually forgiven... then your family ain't good. IMHO, this place is good family! 'nuff said.
 
The church of husky should of course be open to everyone. But on the same token everyone has opinions, some good some bad, some have merit and some do not. But anyone should be able to express their opinion on what they think and it is up to the reader to decide if the opinion is good or bad. I myself will ALWAYS be a ktm hater. Why? Well it is my choice. And most of it is due in my opinion to Husqvarna's poor marketing stategy, taking care of customers, I could go on and on. To me the orange bike is inferior to the husky for many many reasons, I will not go into detail. They should have let them go bankrupt in 91. I hope with bmw's connection this Husky thing can be turned around. (I have been pretty loyal and riding Huskys since 1987. Is most of my comments against the orange machine a joke!! Kind of. Husky should be in the position ktm is instead of the other way around, and sadly they only have themself to blame. Do not take this wrong I LOVE HUSQVARNA! And have told people for years abd years why I feel they are the best! So anyways yes lets talk about Gassers (I really like them and may ride one next year) Lets talk about ktm's to! Good and bad and take the bad said about them with a grain of salt!

For me, I like this site because its only Husky you don't have to scan though alot of crap to get to the Husky brand. I don't mind a little talk about other brand, but I would like to keep it 99% Husky and 1% other
