• Hi everyone,

    As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

    When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

    Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

    Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

    Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

The boss (mike the great…) called me yesterday and said the dealership called and said that the bike is done, ready to go
After almost three month it’s not a moment too soon for me
I believe a mazel tov is in order :D

I do have two quick questions;
In order to replace the faulty main seal the dealer split the main cases
On the way they check the insides for any potential culprits (they found nothing)

So on the next few rides is there anything that I should pay close attention to?
Any bolts that will require tightening check within certain miles?

Congrats on getting your bike back!! I would do a real good check of any bolt that was turned to perform the work before doing any serious riding, and check again after you put some good miles on it. You probably would be safe to do a oil/filter change, and inspect the bag filters for gasket material too(during my break in, there was a bunch of that stuff in the one under the shift lever - nothing in the other one). And let us know what you think of the mirrors after swapping them around!:D

I haven't ridden my 610 since the last week of June and I miss it terribly.

You see, the bike is still 200+ miles away from me.
I need to grab the wife and go n’get it.
Part of the reason I asked is, depending on that Florida tropi-can
if It’s not going to rain too much I would like to ride it back home with the wife trailing with the truck behind.
Most of the way (75%) back home is two lane hwy/75Mph speed limit
So I wanted to know if I’ll need to bring my tool box and give them bolts a bit of a squeeze at the in-laws before we go back home

I'm healing well, thanks, but the glacial pace is killing me:mad: I got stuff I want to do...like, now! I'm leaving for my annual 2-week dirtriding trip to Idaho this Friday, but I won't see any dirtriding. I will, however, see a lot of rivers and hot springs:)

I, too, am seriously looking forward to the 17" knobby experiment. Hell, I'm just looking forward to swinging a leg over the Husky again...I don't care if my Pirelli Diablos, MT60's or knobbies are on it!

The LOW DOWN on the mirrors

It’s embarrassing but…
Sometimes I’m oblivious to some things even if they are right in front of my face……:o

My mirrors ware put backwards and gave my a nice view of the sky but not much of the side:eek:
I did notice that my side view is a bit limited but it took a comment from the Low Down for me to connect the dots…

Now if I can only figure out what else is backwards on my bike…
It might be smart on my part to just post pictures of it and let you guys dissect it? :confused:
