  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

FE/FC Is the Husqvarna tall seat a good buy?

Teeszy

Husqvarna
AA Class
At 6'2" I feel a bit cramped in the cockpit. Trying not to spend hundreds on lower footpegs and the complete seat is only like $130 although I don't know if it will improve ergonomics much as it's not much taller... Any buyers of the OEM tall seat that love it let me know. And if anyone bought one and decided they don't like it, let me know as well! I may just have to buy it. P.s. does it come with the (cool in my opinion) Husky Power Parts logo stitched in near the rear of the seat as pictured in the catalog? I'm starting to think the wave seat may be a better purchase.
Thoughts?

I love it, but its noticeable in really ugly stuff I feel shorter to dab.
It has made me more lazy and Ive been playing sit down trail riding racing more since I installed it.
Its easy enough to swap out with the OEM seat if I feel like it, which I have done knowing we were going on a real ball buster trail ride.
so for normal everyday trail riding and racing tall, for when the call comes for a hammer down ugly stuff event low seat. Im 6 1
I have this one

no, no logo on mine, but it looks like same material as that foto. and I think that is the exact P/N we ordered. funny first time out I rode up a section that is AA steep rocky uphill, which I have done many times before.....I was not used to the tall seat yet and my balance point and that dab reach I mentioned, had changed....well I just screwed it up badly and fffd off onto my side and tore the seat----within 10 minutes , so on the left side along the bottom edge its epoxied.....brilliant move!!

EE makes a tall seat the same as the hard parts one add bar risers and this makes going from sitting to standing so much easier.

I have the same issue Teeszy im the height, I agree with Robertaccio's comments.

I had a tall seat doing the Welsh2day enduro and actually found it a hindrance, I was struggling to get my feet down when you need to dab in tight stuff and would cause me to fall. For trail riding it was a great but for events I prefer the normal seat to help with getting about

Maybe I will just try bar risers first... Then buy the seat down the road and then lowered pegs for a better center of gravity . thanks guys for your input

I started with risers as I was tipping over because I am six foot with bad shoulders, they helped a bunch.

I really dont want to start some oil thread, but bar risers are ,,,,,

alone they throw off the entire balance triangle of a 2 wheeler......well a high performance set up 2 wheeler ie bikes engineered as race machines kike all these Husqvarna machines.......both pedal and powered types. handlebar height-seat height-to peg distance.....if you extend/open one corner of the triangle you should be opening all or at the least to top 2

Does anyone want to sell their tall seat? otherwise I'm just gonna put it on my Citi double cash card and be done with it lol

I like the factory tall, been running one for 2 1/2 years. I wish it was actually tall though. It's less than an inch and still has the dreaded banana shape. I'm trying to figure out a taller solution for my 38" inseam. It's pretty comfy and seems to be holding up good.
