  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

250-500cc is a 6 speed possible?

I ride 07 wr250. Love the bike, it's been great other than cracked cylinder before national enduro. I want to stay with the brand, but would love to plate my next one. Is it possible to ad 6th gear? Oh by the way, would also like a hydro clutch. Listening Husky, Don't want orange!

get a 360 6 speed box, slots straight in apparantly. just fitted my magura hymec "jack"(167 i think) hydro clutch kit. awesome, just awesome!

If you are not in the really tight stuff you might get away with a sprocket swap. Am running 14/45 - gives pretty good top end, a friend runs a 15 on the front of his w a recluse

Very easy swap if you can find a used tranny. Do a search on here there are posts related to that.

it's not like the 360's grew on trees, I think there were more 250's
I rarely see one advertised anymore
to bad they won't sell a complete gearset, that would be a great way to sell some other parts
if people put money in a bike they usually commit to more afterwards

I'm wondering if anyone's looked into the availability of a replacement 360 gear set right from the factory

The six speeds came in 360s from 92-02 and WR250s from 92-98. I have a 92 360 transmission in my 04 WR250. I has low gearing for the tight stuff and still go 80+ MPH. I really like it.
