• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Introduction - Neesmo31 :)

Neesmo31

Husqvarna
A Class
Hey all, after purchasing my new 2010 Husky 510 I thought I would say hello here. I probably wont post pictures up as everyone knows what a stock 510 looks like :)

My first bike was a XR250 which was great to learn on, then I moved on to a pumped KDX200. It had compression, ported head, Vforce reeds, bored carby, FMF gnarly, powdercoated frame/wheels/hubs, polisport shroud, trailtech dash, stainless spokes and alot more bits and peices. Went well until I tore my ACL riding one day - after a lengthy wait for surgury and alot of recovery I decided to bite the bullet again and picked up the husky as it was cheap (brand new).

No plans for the bike really, except for throwing a motox style (standard husky) exhaust tip on as they look a touch different and my mate is starting to make me a full set of carbon fiber 'plastics'. We will do the 2 plastics each side, both frame protectors, fuel cap peice (that is loose around the tank filler) and the black strip over the front wheel in bare carbon. So will post pics soon of how that looks. :)

This site looks awesome and hope to learn alot. Thanks guys. :)

Welcome to CH. Does your screen name have anything to do with your choice in trucks?
Something like this maybe ?

Lol, just a TE. And yeah I used to own a R31 Skyline lol :)

Just done its second service tonight, but still has gear shifting issues... Will hopefully be sending it back to the shop for repairs. Also 1 of my knee braces rocked up today - looks the part. Very excited.

Thanks guys. Bike is slowly getting there, adjusted front shock height as was getting crazy wobbles/washy movement in the front end. Fixed that issue then adjusted rear sag now the bike is a bit toey in the back end so will adjust front end up again.

First set of tyres down and will be going to Pirelli XC Scorpion MID/HARD as i loved them on my last bike.

Also factory Enduro graphics kit should be turning up friday, slightly delayed as it had to come from italy... :)

If i cant ride fast i may as well look like i can lol :) - but other than that the bike is behaving itself more and more as i ride it. Shifting is getting slightly easier but the false neutral from 2nd to 1st still remains.

Clearly a discerning man of taste and good character. Welcome to the best site going, feel free to ask any questions, many here are expert and willing to assist. No one will put you down. All the best and happy riding.

Lol thanks guys for the welcome. Are currently putting the decals on the husky. Might take some pictures and do a how to for these as they can be a pain in the azz. Starting to look good, just very time consuming.

Decals going on nicely. Very difficult though lol, trying to get them straight and then get them to stick! Hair dryer ftw :)

My dealer who put my new tyres on threw in a new husky exhaust sheild and 2 new frame protectors for free :)

Keen AS for riding this weekend.

Well... wasnt paying attention riding home from work and hit a rock on my right foot, it got squashed between the rock and the footpeg and now i think i have a fractured big toe lol. AND to add to that i need a new footpeg :( lol.

Ahh well, that will teach me for not concentrating. As soon as it can get into a boot ill be back riding again :)

Awe man... heal up!

Personally I like the Pivot Pegz, several of us use them - much more comfy and better rear brake control.. (tougher too)

Will do! I have been looking at the Husqvarna "Special" -5mm lower pegs and wouldnt mind getting those.

But yeah got my Xrays and its fractured lol. Damn toe! Sucks too, because in 2 weeks i have a husqvarna ride day where you can ride all the new husky range, 250's, 310's, 449's, 511's etc etc... As long as i can get my riding boot over it then - i will be laughing :)

Looking into it currently, but may be selling my 510 and trading to a 310. Just have to take the 310 for a blat first and see how it feels.

Has anyone had alot of experience between the 5 and 310?

Thanks.

1672km service (because I wanted valves checked), no adjustment required, computer all good, everything peachy :)

13hrs on the clock too which is interesting.
