  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

IMS Tanks for the 04-7 Bikes

J-train

Husqvarna
AA Class
I am conscidering a large tank for my 07 TE510, it actually has decnet range stock, I can get close to 100 miles in SUMO mode and about 75-80 in trail mode. I have my eye on the IMS 3.9G tank for the carbed bike, I found a lot of bad info about the newer FI bike tanks from IMS< but not much complaints about hte older oes as far as fit/finish wise. About the only concern I could find was the slight hinderence of flow through the radiators possible causing overheating issues.

I was goign to go with the black large tank and keep the stock fairings to look as stock as possible. Anyone got photos of the larger IMS tanks for the older bikes? There is not much on their web site as far as photos.

Here's a pic of the 3.4? gal IMS in clear on my 07 450. Its shelved now and I really haven't missed it. I thought the fit was as good if not better than stock tank, but it did make the bike 'ride' wide. I don't think it changes the cooling much. IMS is way better in the gas cap department. The stock cap is such a pain. I prefer the stock tank for tighter trail riding. My IMS either fell over and cracked or vibrated itself, not sure, but theres a long crack underneath the right wing and its toast so I've been living with stock tank for last year or so.

Is that the 3.9G Rufus? Any issues or thoughts you care to share? It looks nice
Easy to install, great fit, & exceptional range. I average 40 to 45 mpg's. I take it off & run the stock tank most of the time, a little less top heavy on the trails that way. Yes it is the 3.9 gallon. Only thing I don't like is running out of gas when there's still plenty left in the right side. Have to lay the bike on it's side to get the rest out. If I could do it easily, I'd put another tap on the right side.

I'm very happy with my 3.5 IMS. 120+ mile range is plenty for me. Had a 3.9 but the info I read on air restriction motivated me to move to the 3.5. I've always ran big tanks so I don't notice ergo issues.

You might shoot WoodsChick a note. If I remember right she's had leakage issues with IMS tanks on her 07 610.

Your bike looked familiar and I remember I had stumbled onto your website a few months back. Incredible build on your bike btw. Awesome toys on that thing
Thanks for the nod JT! You've got a Sano lookin' ride yourself. I've got a thing for our model TE's. It's a darn shame to think of giving it up for a newer one some day.
