  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

250-500cc IMS Fuel Tanks

B Class
I am thinking about putting an IMS tank on my 08 wr250. Can you give me some pro's and con's about either going with the 3.4 or the 3.9 gallon tank. Pictures of the two different tanks installed on your bikes would be appreciated.

Go 3.4IMS. Got one on my '06 WR250. She'll go 90 miles before reserve.

Does the stock WR 250 gas tank have enough capacity for a 2 hour hare scramble, without refueling? If so, about how far or how long of a range do you have?

Nobody knows?

I am not sure on the 250, but on my 125 I have ridden 31.5 miles at race pace(about 2hrs10min) and had about .75 gal left. So figure 15-20 mpg depending how hard you twist the throttle.

I would say not if it is a open HS. I can rarely make it 2 hrs on my 125, and thats in tighter midwest trees. Not 100% though. Depends on the rider level and course I would say.

Very true. I am also running a PWK, some have said they get better mileage over the TMX. The course was a 10.5mi loop with about 7 miles being tight woods(1st/2nd gear). Also, the leftover fuel was more like .6 gal now that I think about it(remembered draining the tank into a milk jug).
