• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Improved 610 Fender Support

Xcuvator

Husqvarna
Pro Class
There are some posts over at another forum regarding an improved rear fender support that may be of interest to some. When there is enough interest a batch will be made.

From what I can tell the stainless replacement should add some strength to the rear of the 610. I don't know if the 630 takes the same support or not.

I also don't know if I'll get introuble for posting the link, but don't know how else to draw attention to it.:naughty:

I read the thread, and it's a shame that it isn't getting beefed up a little as so many suggested. Still, it should be stronger. I had to laugh at the guy that wanted a template...when the exact template is sitting right there under his fender

After breaking mine twice in less than a year I spent about $30 (less than half the price of the ss one and no shipping) having my fender support beefed up with another layer of aluminum. I've done a lot of fully-loaded miles since then with no issues whatsoever. The post with all photos is here... http://www.cafehusky.com/threads/pro-moto-billet-pannier-protectors.9821/#post-99147 but you can see the beautiful welds on the double layer of aluminum in this photo...

Sorry for the remark, bensl :(

The fact that you didn't have your bike with you at the time changes things, doesn't it? Had I known that I wouldn't have thought it was so silly :)

I don't see how it is it is condesending to say something made you laugh if it did.
Were you just checking to see if the poster would go to his fabricator's shop and ask for a drawing he may or may not have so he could make a copy of his work and go home and send it to you? Kinda had me going too.

not at all. i thought maybe he made a template (or tracing) out of his that he took to the fabricator and he had a copy to share. doesnt hurt to ask does it??

thats all i am going to do. remove it from the bike, trace around it on a piece of paper and then cut it out of a piece of flat plate and bend it up. i was ust hoping skip a step.

cheers

I know bensl, I was just giving your chain a little tug.

(old thread)
Did these things ever get made? And, if so... are there any left? My subframe hasn't caused me any problems yet. It's the 'yet' I'm worried about.

I sure never heard anymore about it. With a couple of small changes, I thought it would have been a good idea.

Edit: I take that back, I did get a PM from the guy who was trying to get some interest and said he didn't have enough interest yet.

I'm guessing with there being fewer 610's around now (compared to all the 630 talk), it will be tough to gain interest. Bummer.

I think there are more 610s than 630s. Most of the 610 guys have everything sorted by now and aren't look anymore.
