  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

I'm trying!!!

I got a bargain. 13 te449 w 30 miles on it from original dealer with warranty $5150. I can't believe I was actually looking at an orange bike for 10 k

I don't get where people find these magical dealerships that offer these dirt bikes at 5150. I try to get a 250 OTD price at $7,000 and it's like I'm asking for it to be plated in gold.

Some dealers have room to deal based on volume of sales and orders, others just don't. Still others simply don't think customers are willing to go too far out of the area or get a biked shipped. Thus they feel they can price accordingly. There is a dealer to the north of me in what one would consider an affluent beach city who is trying to sell a used 2012 511 for like $7500.

Call Bills and check on his shipping, he works wonders from what I've read here...

All appearances are that the last 600 or so "Italian/German" bikes were recently delivered in the US, and dealers get some good incentives to help sell those while awaiting the new 'refrigerator' bikes in the Spring. Each dealer gets to decide how they want to handle that situation...some will go for discounts/create customers/maximize volume and some will look to maximize per unit profit, knowing that the white bikes will likely be more expensive.

I wouldnt ignore my local dealer for a couple hundred dollars difference...but at 2-3 thousand....?

I don't think dirt bikes sell too well in the northeast it seems.. I never see a dirt bike nowadays new or used at a dealership for less then 7k.. that's why I surf Craigslist and look for the folks who are 'too old to ride their dirt bike' or need to sell because of wife.. those are gold mines

But it is nice not ever seeing others on 'your' trails, and because dirt bikes aren't popular in my area, they are not very strict with plating

I picked up a new 2012 TE511 for $5900 at Heinens in Osseo Mn. Just bought another for my son. Was also able to get an FMF slip on out of the deal.
