• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

This is a Trail Tech build of a bike I will primarily ride to test product on as well as at events.

What I noticed about the 2018 TE250i over the 2017 TE250 I rode all last year...

  1. EFI plumbing and stuff (obviously)
  2. Magura brakes front and rear!
  3. Full Magura clutch (master and slave)
  4. Pro Taper bars
  5. Frame mounted oil fill
What I am doing / have done to the bike.
  1. Trail Tech - Fan kit, bar risers, Voyager pro (new GPS), hour meter, kick stand, 7" LED flame thrower light
  2. Suspension is off to Richard at House of Horsepower to maximize performance. I have had him do his magic before and he is very detailed about it and does amazing work.
  3. Dubya wheels, blue hubs and gold rims. This is just for looks and so I have another set of wheels for DS tires for the KTM 500 we have.
  4. Cycra plastic kit (save the stock stuff) and the best hand guards ever built
  5. Fastway steering damper (cuz these bikes need them) and footpegs
  6. Seat Concept seat (love them)
  7. TM designworks skidplate and chain guide stuff, cuz it rules
  8. FMF pipe and muffler. Needed a spark arrester and they wanted me to try the pipe on the EFI bike.
  9. Decal worsk graphics
  10. HiPoint tubeless tires (been wanting to try them and have new wheels so here is the chance. These have the tubes built into the tires.
Still a ways to go but hope to have this 100% in a few weeks when the wheels and suspension get here. Really looking forward to trying this beast out.

Don't know if the "Te" and "Tx" share the same ignition. Do you know if your light will work with both?

It will work on anything with regulated DC. Basically anything with a battery like the TX will work. Need 27 watts of unused regulated DC. Should work fine on your TX. Its a fantastic light. Tosses light deeper into the night than a Squadron Pro. Its a crazy amount of light.

Not real DS friendly but I use it on the street anyways, I want people to see me.

I think I'll mount these fancy Hi-Point tires on them. These tires have the tube integrated into the tire.

"the tube and tire are bonded together. If you look inside an unmounted tire, there’s a heavy rubberized fabric where the tube would be. The material is much tougher and less stretchy than a traction rubber tube and is bonded to a regular valve stem. "

BTW these tires come with a valve stem cap with a pulling line attached so you can fish the line through the rim hole and pull the valve stem through for ease of installation.
