• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Idle RPMs high on SM 610ie 2007

Hi all from Spain, this is my first message :)

I have a SM 610ie 2007 and just disabled a few days ago the lambda probe with original kit for it (8000A7724, 151341401, 8000A6750, 8000A7749 piece references).

After this, and with non-original exhaust, RPMs on idle ups to 1800-1900, is this normal? is there a way to down it?

Thanks, regards.

Since you have a 2007 you have a carburetor correct? You should be able to see a black knob on the side of your carb. While running at a warm idle adjust accordingly. I believe counter-clockwise will lower the RPM's.

I removed the lambda probe too from my TE610ie 08 a few days ago.I have the same thing with the idle.It went right up to 1900rpm.there is an idle adjusting screw located behind the airbox close to the rear brakefluid rervoir. Not that easy to get to it but i managed to give it a twist with a 8mm wrench. The thing is that if you adjust idle back to 1600,on cold starting until the bike reaches some temp it has very low idle(1200-1300rpm)thing you dont want.Im still trying to get mine fine tuned but i cant so far.Now it keepsteadyidle at 1600rpm but went i start in the morning i have to keep the enricher a bit open or twist the throttle a bit for the bike not go to low rpms(1200-1300).When it heats up its fine... :excuseme:

same here. i adjusted idle to 1600/1700 when warm. 1300/1400 cold. gets up to temp after about 5 mins. it's totally normal to use the choke/fast idle when starting cold. i just use as little as poss to get it started and get to idle of about 1800. after a coupla minutes i shut it off and ride. gets to normal idle in a few minutes.

as nickterc said, go to airbox housing on right hand side of bike and look behind it with a torch, you will see a bolt. adjust when the bike is warm and set it to the rpm you want. be careful not to burn your hand (you will see!)

I'm not sure if the 2007s in Europe are FI but if they are follow what these guys are saying. You'll be able to see/access it from the front right side looking aft. If it has a carb then itll be on the right side of your bike just under your red choke knob. There is a black knob, counter clockwise will lower the rpms but do it without choke when it's fully warmed up.

Hi,

Sorry cjoecruz003, I didnt see your first response.

My SM is the injection, 610ie. In Europe there are the 2 types of 2007 models.

I found the srew at the manual linked.

Thanks all for responses
