  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

I currently own a 2011 te310. I have full fmf, 12 hole injector, and power commander with auto tune. I have put a lot of money in this bike and i am still not completely satisfied with the power. I only weigh 155lbs and i am afraid to jump to a big bore bike because of the weight but i love the low end grunt of a big bore. I have never owned a big bore bike and maybe it is time to step up. I have looked at and road a te449 but wasn't really impressed with it but with what i have read you guys that own a 449 or 511 love them. I did stop buy the local Yamaha dealer and check out the new wr450. It is a nice bike but still not built like a European bike. This is my second husky and i want to stay loyal but I also need to find a bike that suits me. What do you guys think. There is a 2011 te449 down at the husky dealer that i was looking at but what needs to be done to wake that thing up?

Well if a factory plate isn't important to you (and I draw that conclusion because you mentioned a wr450f) maybe you should look into a 2 stroke 250. Way more power than your te310 and lighter too. Also they are cheaper to buy, maintain, and fix should something go wrong. I have a TE510 and really like it for what it is (a high performance DS) but I feel my 2t yz250 destroys the 510 in every off-road situation except out right top speed.

thanks i was looking at the new 250 2 stroke husaberg but it has been a long time since i have rode a 2-stroke. I have herd they have came a long way.

Mate, a 449 will have heaps of grunt for you. It is an electic motor like the WR450F. It puts down heaps of traction.
