  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

I need taller seat or lower pegs for 2007 TC450....

Husqvarna
A Class
I rode my 2007 TC450 last week for the first time off road with all gear on. I am 5 feet,11 inches tall. I noticed for the first time that the seating position felt cramped, it took more effort to stand up on the pegs than my old bike (2003 Cannondale X440). When I got home I measured the distance from top of pegs to top of seat, the Husky is about 1 1/2 inches shorter. Does anyone else have this issue? Is a taller seat the only cure? Is there a way to lower the peg position? I really liked the bike but for this issue.

FastWay makes footpegs which are adjustable in both directions I believe . I know that they have a model that adjusts both back and down from the stock position, which helped me at 6'3" ,and your choice of peg cleats , from points to knurled posts . IMO these are the best adjustable pegs I have ever used , and are rebuildable . I also opted for a taller seat foam and cover from Guts Racing (made in USA) to make the riding area of the bike more comfortable for someone my size . There are also handle bar risers which may be able to raise the bars and possibly move them further forward , available from MotoSportz , or a different top triple clamp to accomplish the same thing . Once you get it comfortable for yourself the rest will fall in line with your riding abilities , and it will be a blast to ride .

Thank you, I ordered the foam yesterday and will get the pegs if I need a bit more room. Love this bike, except for the kickback issue.....
