• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

I know it is a KTM but...

I wish she needed me for something longer then 15 minutes.
So long as you're satisfied, that's the main thing. :)

Had this one for 8 years and like my old style better. Everytime it was time to renew my drivers license I would kick em out and change the lockset (not a joke)
:D :D :D. That sounds like a reasonable and and well thought out policy... May consider it further myself.

Now I get reminded on how she will have my truck and the house I built!!
Yeah, that's BS, our country has progressed a little too far down that route as well.:(

BTW, a mate of mine picked up a brand new 2011 KTM300EXC last Friday. It's a beautiful looking machine and he reckons it's simply AWESOME to ride, but probably a bit too much bike for him until his skills improve.

It's funny you claim the whole internet as "America"
Sad thing is when I read all your quotes on this thread, America is the last place I think of....

I think your hatred would be far suited in the darker places on this planet...no?
You know, like Iran/q or maybe N.Korea or even Gaza or...well...You know, all those lovely places

Definitely not the America I think of, no Sir, mine has a LOT less hatred in it....
But I guess living harmoniously is not everybody's cup of tea...too bad that as an Americans we need to defend it

Yep, and to think there was no drama before you brought it here...good job in killing a thread :applause:

What do motorcycles have to do with Airborne Rangers?
I still don't get it, but can't help feeding the troll....

With respect (and I mean that), Fletch isn't knocking America, he's celebrating the significant rights American's enjoy, including free speech.

He not a troll either, he's just having a bit of fun, and like Brian, is a very naughty boy.:D. Let him enjoy his 15 minutes a day... however he chooses to spend it...:D

Respect gains respect. (and this has nothing to do with you, Russ)

Hating an inanimate object is pretty strange to me, but I do respect that that is his take.

Kelly started this thread to say "check out this cool bike" and arrowdude started raving. Just walk on by if you have an issue or start a rant in the CafeDiner or go kick the trashcans.

One of the unique things about CH is the people here seem to be a bit mellower than some of the other sites. Ktmtalk is probably the worst, ironically, but they just fight about everything and not so much bashing brands.

I'm all for having fun and joking around, but all the :censored: crap, etc. Come on. Seems 15 minutes is nearly 15 minutes too much.

I've wanted to write this many times here, but have always refrained: All of my Husqvarna motos have needed extensive dicking with to get them ride ready. Some of that has been the dealers, some of it has been Husqvarna, but all of them needed way more than my 09 200xcw. Sprung it for my weight (and it wasn't off in an unbalanced way ala Husky, just too light for my weight) jetted it for the mtns and rode it. It works very well for what it was made for. I got it in Jan 2010, which is hardly a leftover, for 5k otd. The dealer treated me well and fair and I'm sure he made nothing or little on it. (You are correct though, Gerald is a stand up guy and Upstate is a good shop)

Still, I have 3 red ones and one orange one. I like em, the red ones, and I like this place.

Maybe Dean can create an I hate other brands forum and you guys can wank it together... but I hope not.

Love to all:love:

We should talk about bikes more. All bikes. Mainly Huskys but all bikes. this thread is kinda done I guess. Weird.

I certainly look forward to talking about all kinds of bikes here. CH is generally the most "live and let live" of places and I hope it stays that way.

BTW I saw this KTM on Asphalt and Rubber a few weeks ago and found myself really liking it. Even if it is rather orange. ;)

I ride with guys with KTM's all the time. One dude has a VERY nice KTM 350 that is a great bike. Nothing wrong with KTM IMHO. Or GG, or TM or, Shreco or... they are all good bikes these days. Don't have time for the hate. Love Huskys obviously but that does not mean I have to hate everything else. I love riding other bikes. The new Bergs really had me for a bit. My 511 fills that void nicely.

I like that 690 KTM crotch rocket, bad! I've ridden the 690 enduro it's based upon a few times and like it a lot too. Too many bikes, not enough cash.

Yo dude. I did not mean that Cafe Husqvarna is only represented by Americans, I realize it is represented by everyone, everywhere and for the same reason, my bad on that comment, that is used at times in the USA without any malice towards anywhere else. If you took offense, sorry. But I stick by my quote. (but didn't mean any harm!) Oh the drama. The :censored:ing KTM is UGLY. DONE>>>>>>>>>>>

Of course I understand and respect this. There are many reasons I choose to hate KTM, and will continue to do so, and my kids do to. Reality says hey, everyone is different and can do their own thing!!! I don't go out of my way to mess with pumpkin heads, and hey I ride with them also. It is my decision and basede on my own experience that I choose to be ANTI KTM. Da, of course a KTM is not a bad bike, They would be out of business if they were!!!

I have to agree on the anti Kaboom thing, because any orange dealers Ive ever been in has left a very nasty taste in my mouth, service has always been very poor and I hate the way they look at ya like your gonna steal a bike from them, and this is before my husky days, thats why I drive 2-3 hours away and spend my hard earned money at upstate cycles gerald treats you greatly and that goes with any husky employee ive ever met. And I agree with wanting respect for the husky name, orange guys look at ya like I cant believe your riding that contraption, and when they say how do you like pushing your bike out of the woods. Thats when I scream HUSKY and dump the clutch and let the red beast cover the orange with a good ol' roost:D

LIKE IT!!! No one can understand my reasons and I really do not give a :censored:****************************************

I think, what I met aboyt the AIRBORNE RANGER thing, listen I was in 82nd AIRBORNE and 1st special Forces, There are always the guys that go along with everything and then there is the elite. 1 Airborne Ranger equals 5 normal military guys. It means I ,you got to be a :censored: and stand by my ground. This has all got out of control**************************************** If a guy is laying on the ground on a KTM, I'm not going to drive by him and leave him while he is hurt!! I will for sure help him, make sure he is alright, then possibly ask him why he is so foolish to ride and orange bike!!! ALL IN A JOSHING MANNER MIND YOU****************************************!! Hey no one else will shut up, so why should I!!

:censored::censored:OK OK. Forget I ever said anything. The :censored:ing bike in the photo sure is :censored:ing ugly and looks like a :censored:ing POS****************************************!! You all can talk to your orange in the face. If I see something Orange on the trail, without hesitation I will NOT go around it, I will use it for a launch pad****************************************!

While I like your passion for the brand messing up an entire thread because it is a KTM seems out of line. Can we just discuss things about bikes now? We all know you hate KTM, got it. Some of us might still want to discuss the merits of different bikes from different manufactures with out pages of off topic stuff. please.

Sounds good to me: Please go ahead and repost your Photo of a bike you think looks nice. I will say nothing. But when I do, say nothing back and that will stop the BS. I'm tired of this thread and pure and simple with all do respect, not taking into consideration the fact the bike is a KTM, simply put, dude in my opinion it's and ugly bike********************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************!!! Now simply DO not reply and I will let it go... Thank you.

Pretty bikes are like pretty women. The prettier they are the less likely I will get one. Besides the dependable, low maintenance ones that get dirty & wash off still kinda dirty are more fun. [I'm talking bikes you guy's].:D Let's stop the thread here. Everyone gets the point! Pretty Bike by the way;)

I'm waiting to see if it is offered for sale in the USA. If it is, I'm getting one. The 690 engine is has smooth, awesome power, no vibs, and amazing fuel mileage. Thanks for posting the photo!

looks like they are really using that 690 package...

You're right these two bikes are very similar. It is amazing how much sexier some fiberglass and low bars and tank make a bike.

I road the KTM RC8 and it was very nice. Completely controllable and wicked fast. The only problem is that my back and wrists would never be the same.
