  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

I did it... 09 TE510

Husqvarna
AA Class
Well I took the plunge today and bought my first Husky.. I got an 09 TE510 from Moto-Forza in Escondido. Seems like a great shop so far.

Thanks to all of you and the wealth of information on this board. It helped me make the jump to Husky.

Now starts the fun of bolting all of the goodies on and doing the initial setup..

If only I wasn't so old and fat. A 510 would surely hurl me into an early grave... but what a way to go! Congrats!

i have an 05 and boy do they go ! uncorked and jetted mine is a missile !! enjoy it they look just the best bike out there.. and also sound awsome !... :)

husky for the win !!

Here are some pics from my first ride. All I can say is..

I LIKE IT!!!

I still have some bolt on to put on like hand guards, a GPR damper and a shark fin for the rear rotor but they have not come in yet. Hopefully this weekend.

The new ride.

I love how a new bike smells when breaking in. Is that a 3.7 clarke tank? If so, I have ridden over 160miles on a full tank, I don't even fret until over 120 miles.
CONGRATS!

I wish.. The only tank available for the 09 510 that I have found is the 3.0 gal IMS.

Man... How did I miss this one! Another fellow 510er.
When I first got mine I came off a modified DRZ 400. It didn't matter the 510 was 10 X that bike and more.
The throttle chop was hard to get use to. And the first thing I put on it was a G2 throttle cam. I also went up to 49T in the back.
It's a lot of bike in the tight S/T stuff. But having the extra punch is well worth every extra pound.:D

Plus if it beats me up to much...I always have my little one to play with.:D

Anyone ridden the 450 & 510 back to back? How do they differ?

yep, many times. The 450 has a lot less bottom end but feels lighter on the trail and turns quicker. The 510 is FAST and feels a little bulky to me. If you ride tighter stuff get the 450. If you do a lot of dez of DS get the 510.

Hey the white looks good. You will love this machine and congrats on a good decision.
Now take of all the road stuff and stick it under the bench.
Enjoy.
