  • Hi everyone,

    As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

    When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

    Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

    Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

    Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Been thinking of try'n a Hyde skid plate on my WR150.Anybody have any thoughts or imput?The one peice,pipe guard/skid plate.Im thinking for the money,its the best protection i can get.?

Got a hyde skid plate on my WR 300 , Its great !!! i ride nothing but PA gnarly rocks and so far so good after two years !

Run a 1 piece Hyde skid & pipe guard on my 06 wr 250, functionally it's great, only gripe is mounting, takes some patience & grunting for me
 
I have a hyde skid guard/pipe guard on my 09 wr300. Works great. Im still running the original pipe and I've put that bike through a lot. I drilled a hole in the bottom with hole cutter so I could drain my oil without removing it.

I would definitely buy again.

I also have the Hyde one piece unit. I cut out the mid section so I could take the pipe guard off and clean the bike better. It also makes taking the skid plate off easy when changing the oil. I think the Hyde has a little more flex so it actualy absorbs the hard hits and keep the pipe from getting tweaked at the head or even denting the pipe behind the guard. Way better than carbon fiber in my opinion.

They don't make any guards for 2013 WR 125/144.
